Job Summary
Telecom Senior Software Engineer will design, build, and maintain software and systems for communication networks, focusing on coding, testing, integrating, and optimizing network performance, security, and user experience. The role involves working with APIs, protocols, hardware, and cross‑functional teams to ensure reliable, efficient data exchange.
Key Responsibilities- Software Development:
Code, test, and maintain telecom applications, focusing on Genesys Cloud UCaaS and CCaaS, VoIP, chat and email, and data services. - Performance Optimization:
Enhance network efficiency, reliability, and security. - Protocol Implementation:
Work with networking protocols and standards. - Collaboration:
Partner with network engineers, architects, and other teams. - Troubleshooting & Maintenance:
Debug issues and ensure smooth operation. - Documentation:
Create technical specifications, network diagrams, and system documentation.
This position services as an expert technical and industry resource to management, clients, and development staff in new uses of information technology in all phases of major system and subsystem development. Provides consultation on internal and industry IT technical and business domain process capabilities, including leadership in identifying and recommending new IT opportunities and business operations as it relates to application development.
EngineeringLeadership
- Breaks down a complex system into smaller components and coaches/ leads a team of software engineers to design and develop these components.
- Functions as primary practitioner coach on the team to grow the capabilities of other engineers.
- Integrates systems to databases and other applications using middleware such as Snap Logic, REST based services, etc.
- Understands the relationship between applications and infrastructure.
- Acts as a leader in the developer community within Magellan, performing demo and knowledge sharing sessions.
- Writes technical blogs and is active in the Open Source Community.
- Acts as expert for automated testing strategies, including TDD and ATDD.
- Works on Agile software development projects.
- Understands advanced concepts of Containers, Micro‑Services, and Continuous Integration.
- Develops highly scalable applications in AWS cloud using tools such as Cloud Formation Templates, EC2, SWF, ELB, Lambda, S3, RDS/Dynamo
DB and others. - Identifies and tracks key metrics produced by the application.
- Performs load and performance testing on the applications and has advanced troubleshooting ability to tune the application to scale.
Job Requirements
4+ years related experience, including a minimum of 2+ years designing, building, and deploying software in IT.

Demonstrated problem‑solving techniques.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Salary Range$93,955 - $159,725
