Integration Engineer

JOB DESCRIPTION

Our client is seeking a high-potential Integration Engineer - Data and Automation to support post-acquisition integration, operational transformation, and systems-enabled execution across its growing portfolio of residential services businesses. This is a full-time role with our client. This is an execution-oriented role for someone with a strong consulting toolkit and interest in hands‑on operating environments, where adoption, sequencing, and field impact truly matter.

Reporting to the Vice President of Technology, the individual will own the design, build, and operation of our automation and data platform. The mission is to reduce manual work, enable rapid scaling of new brands, and ensure business decisions are driven by trusted, consistent data, while laying a strong foundation for AI‑driven automation.

You’ll connect systems, make data reliable, and eliminate manual handoffs using Workato, Snowflake, dbt, and supporting services. This is a hands‑on, high‑impact role operating at the intersection of automation engineering, data engineering, and production operations.

• Build and maintain system integrations primarily using Workato
• Use Python / Node.js when Workato is not the right fit (complex logic, custom APIs, heavy transformations, file parsing, etc.)
• Ship “set it and forget it” integrations with strong monitoring, alerts, and rapid recovery
• Design reusable integration patterns that work across brands with varying processes
• Use Snowflake as the central reporting warehouse
• Use dbt as the metric definition layer to ensure consistency and repeatability
• Build automated pipelines (often via Workato) for legacy and new brand data
• Implement data quality checks so broken or incomplete data is caught before reporting
• Own reconciliation of finance‑critical metrics back to source systems
• Speed‑to‑lead, routing, rehash, and follow‑up
• Close rate and financing attachment
• Job readiness, re‑measures, and scheduling milestones
• Procurement, install readiness, and order status
• Invoicing, collections, and service/warranty tracking
• Design clear error handling, safe retries, and actionable alerts
• Build configuration‑driven, reusable brand onboarding templates
• Keep core entities clean and connected (customers, jobs, orders, invoices, service)
• Ensure key business events are logged and analyzable
• Use AI coding tools to accelerate development with guardrails:

• Operations scale without adding headcount
• New brands onboard faster with minimal custom work
• Stakeholders trust the numbers by default
• Automations quietly work in the background – reliably
• The company is structurally ready for AI‑driven workflows

• Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree or equivalent operating experience preferred.
• 5+ years of experience in data engineering, automation engineering, or backend systems (range adjustable by level)
• Strong proficiency in at least one general‑purpose language (Python required; Node.js or similar a plus)
• Solid understanding of APIs, webhooks, authentication (OAuth, API keys), and event‑driven systems
• Hands‑on experience with an iPaaS or workflow automation platform (Workato, Mule Soft, Boomi, Zapier for complex use cases, etc.)
• Must live in the DMV area

• Exposure to private equity‑backed environments, post‑merger integration, or high‑growth operating models.
• Experience in services‑based, field‑intensive, or customer‑facing industries such as home services, healthcare services, or multi‑site retail.
• Prior experience supporting systems rollouts, operating model changes, or cross‑functional transformations.
