Software Engineer, Angular Developer
Position Description
CGI is actively seeking an Angular Developer to help modernize user interfaces integrated with the Momentum suite supporting government financials. As an Angular Developer, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining applications, creating custom modules, and integrating systems using Angular and related technologies. You will collaborate closely with fellow developers, engineers, and business analysts to design, develop, test, and deploy solutions that meet the needs of our clients.
Opportunities for this position open to the applicant are in Washington, D.C. and Huntsville, AL.
Responsibilities include developing and maintaining both new and existing Angular and Java based applications. Whether troubleshooting a software defect, enhancing an existing application, or developing a new solution, you should be able to delve into frameworks and libraries to deliver coherent solutions aligned with the overall architecture of the application landscape. The successful candidate will be a member of a high-performing multi-site agile team and must be self‑motivated with a strong work ethic, time‑management, and interpersonal skills.
Effective communication skills are essential.
- Academic background in computer science, computer engineering, or a similar major with extensive computer‑based or technical content
- 3+ years of relevant development experience, with a focus on Angular development
- Experience with a mixture of Angular
JS 1.X, Angular 2.0+, Type Script, Spring, Spring Boot, Java - Oracle SQL/Postgre
SQL competency - Experience with GIT source control
- Ability to bring projects to completion in a timely manner
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to learn and understand the nature of business
- Ability to prioritize and execute tasks in a high‑pressure environment
- Ability to work both independently and in a team‑oriented, collaborative environment
- Skills in HTML, JavaScript, jQuery, Bootstrap
- Familiarity with SOAP/REST
- Knowledge of Momentum Financials/Acquisitions
- Experience working under Agile methodology
- Familiarity with JIRA
- ERP software experience
- Effective communication with non‑technical staff and members of interdisciplinary teams
