Software Developer – Mid; Team

Overview

Amentum is searching for a Top‑Secret cleared Software Developer to join our team in Washington, DC. The role involves accelerating operations through data and analytical insights, leveraging agile practices to provide enhanced reporting and global searching capabilities. The developer will lead large‑scale data analysis projects to design and deliver on‑premises and cloud‑based applications.

• Develop, test, and debug new software or enhancements to existing software.
• Understand business, user, performance, quality, interface, and security requirements for applications.
• Collaborate with technical staff to diagnose and resolve software problems.
• Address customer complaints and respond to improvement suggestions.
• Assist in developing software user manuals.
• Design, test, and implement desktop security lockdowns, and integrate with standard software packages, automated patching, and deployment technologies.
• Document, train, and automate application and configuration deployments and updates.
• Apply expertise to complex assignments, demonstrating originality and innovation in problem solving.
• Operate with latitude in methodology development and solution presentation.
• Contribute to deliverables and performance metrics where applicable.

Monday through Friday, 8‑hour days onsite. Flexibility within a 2‑week pay period to reach 80 hours.

• Minimum 4 years of experience developing, testing, and deploying back‑end software in languages such as Java, JavaScript, Go, Python, Typescript, and .NET.
• Experience developing, testing, and deploying Java software using the latest versions of the Java Development Kit.
• Experience with backend frameworks:
  Java Spring, Node.js, Go Gin, Angular
  
  JS, React, Next.js, NestJS, Gin Spring, Google Web Toolkit, Hibernate, and Struts.
• Proficiency in software development lifecycle processes, including Agile development.
• Knowledge of software design patterns and antipatterns.
• Familiarity with development tools (git, IDEs, code quality tools, etc.).
• Ability to work across multiple teams.

• Active Top‑Secret clearance with SCI eligibility.

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or related field (or substitution of additional years of experience).
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in relevant roles.

• Java, JavaScript, PL/SQL, ExtJS 7, REST/SOAP protocols, HTML, XML, JSON, SQL.
• Spring Framework, Spring Security, Eclipse Link (JPA).
• Git Lab Runner, Ansible, Cloud Formation.
• Python, Jira, Confluence, Git Lab/Git, Splunk.
• SAFe Agile proficiency.
• 508 Compliance and Testing knowledge.
• AWS Associate Level or above certification.

$135,000 - $150,000 (the range reflects a good‑faith estimate and may vary based on responsibilities, experience, and other factors).
