Forward Deployed Engineer

About the Role

As a Forward Deployed Engineer at Atalanta you will focus on understanding customers' real‑world mission needs, designing how Argo is deployed to deliver measurable outcomes, and ensuring successful adoption by users in the field. This role combines product intuition, technical expertise, and user empathy to drive real impact for our customers.

• Develop and integrate real‑world data schemas with formal methods tools (model checkers, SMT & SAT solvers, theorem provers) to facilitate LLM‑powered automated reasoning workflows.
• Lead technical product deployment and implementation alongside customers in the field across cloud, on‑premise, or hybrid environments.
• Ship front‑end features that make system models, constraints, and validation results understandable and actionable for customers.
• Translate on‑the‑ground insights into product improvements and help shape Atalanta’s forward deployment playbook.
• Collaborate with team members on product architecture and design decisions.

• Experience working with users in national security or high consequence missions.
• Strong engineering background and proficiency with data structures and front‑end frameworks like React/Type Script.
• Familiarity, or ability to learn, programming languages like Rust, and theorem provers like Lean.
• Hands‑on experience working with and deploying AI systems, including prompt design and evaluation, LLM tool‑calling and agentic workflow development, and navigating customer or regulatory data protection requirements.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage directly with users and translate insights into product feature prototypes.
• Willingness to travel regularly to customer sites.
• Eligibility for a TS/SCI security clearance (U.S. citizenship required.)

The salary range for this position is estimated to be $150,000 – $200,000 per year. Employees will also receive a significant equity grant, commensurate with the contribution expected from this role.
