Software Development Engineer – Tysons, VA

We’re looking for a Software Development Engineer who is passionate about building secure, scalable systems and thrives in a fast-paced, purpose-driven environment. What You’ll Do- Design and implement scalable, reliable backend services and APIs using Node.js, Go, or Python.
- Architect data workflows and orchestrate complex backend logic using microservices.
- Collaborate with frontend, ML, and product teams to bring new features to life.
- Manage and optimize SQL and No
SQL databases for performance and reliability. - Containerize and deploy services using Docker and Kubernetes.
- Own uptime and performance of backend systems in real-world environments.
- Write well-documented, maintainable, and thoroughly tested code.
- Troubleshoot, debug, and improve system stability across environments.
- 3+ years of professional experience in backend development.
- Proficiency in at least one core language:
Node.js, Go, or Python. - Hands‑on experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms like AWS, GCP, or Azure.
- Strong understanding of RESTful API design and implementation.
- Experience with PostgreSQL, MongoDB, or other SQL/No
SQL databases. - Comfort working in CI/CD environments and automating deployments.
- Solid grasp of backend system design, security, and performance.
- Strong debugging skills and a clean, maintainable coding style.
- Experience with observability tools like Prometheus, Grafana, or Open Telemetry.
- Familiarity with infrastructure‑as‑code tools (Terraform, AWS CDK, Pulumi).
- Exposure to high‑scale systems and distributed architecture.
- Knowledge of security practices for APIs and backend systems.
- Mission‑driven work building infrastructure that brings AI to life responsibly.
