The Sponsor requires a highly skilled, expert programmer experienced in developing middleware services to integrate diverse data holdings via various system APIs. The candidate will work with a small team where other developers have a different focus. This platform will support various custom front ends with a focus on linking to original source documents, capturing relevant structured information, securing it, and enabling collaboration with a single common data repository.

The candidate will focus on supporting a substantial set of requirements around enabling single, integrated search.

• Demonstrated on‑the‑job experience providing system engineering & systems architecture support for enterprise class systems such as the ability to conceptualize & document system requirements & develop a System Concept of Operations
• B.S. in Software Systems Engineering, Computer Science or a comparable field or equivalent experience
• Demonstrated on‑the‑job experience developing middleware services to utilize system APIs to integrate data
• Demonstrated on‑the‑job experience with JSON, XML, OWL and RDF data representation formats
• Demonstrated on‑the‑job experience with Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) to include RESTful APIs
• Demonstrated on‑the‑job experience with Java and HTML as well as JSP, JavaScript, C or Eclipse Development Platforms
• Demonstrated on‑the‑job experience working with development teams and project stakeholders both independently as well as within a collaborative team structure

• Demonstrated on‑the‑job experience with Kafka bus structures or comparable bus architectures
• Demonstrated on‑the‑job experience working with graph databases or similar link/node data structures
• Demonstrated on‑the‑job experience with AWS Cloud Technologies
• Demonstrated on‑the‑job experience with multi‑level security system architectures
• Demonstrated on‑the‑job experience with high performance search frameworks and their capabilities such as SOLR Cloud, Lucene or Elastic Search
• Demonstrated on‑the‑job experience with big data technologies such as Cloudera, Gazzang, Hadoop, Hbase, ActiveMQ or other closely related technology offerings
• Demonstrated on‑the‑job experience with the Sponsor's security requirements and certification & accreditation process
• Demonstrated on‑the‑job experience with Agile & Dev Ops methodologies
• Demonstrated on‑the‑job experience with large scale (Terabytes+) data repositories and knowledge of performance engineering
• Demonstrated on‑the‑job experience with production operations and associated monitoring
• Demonstrated on‑the‑job experience with full life‑cycle, end‑to‑end software development and delivery, including from the earliest phases of concept and innovation with the customer to delivery of prototype and production systems
• Demonstrated on‑the‑job experience providing input to complex computer engineering projects or programs that may have ill‑defined requirements, ambiguity, parallel tasks, multiple dependencies, high risks, and multiple interfaces
