Senior Full Stack Engineer
We are seeking a Senior Full Stack Engineer to own and scale a maritime awareness platform at a Series A defense technology company. This is a high-ownership, backend-leaning IC role where you will take features from concept to production with minimal oversight. You will be responsible for decomposing monolithic services into enterprise-grade microservices, building scalable data pipelines, and contributing across web and mobile applications.
Candidates must have experience working in government contracting or government-adjacent environments and understand compliance-driven engineering requirements.
- Decompose monolithic services into scalable microservices and design robust data pipelines across the platform
- Develop and maintain web and mobile applications using Type Script, React/React Native, Python, and Node.js
- Work extensively with AWS services (application-level usage: S3, Kinesis, EC2, Fargate, IoT) to support enterprise-scale operations
- Own features end-to-end, from customer feedback through design, implementation, and production deployment
- Operate as a self-directed individual contributor in a fast-moving, low-bureaucracy environment

- 7–12+ years of full stack engineering experience (backend-leaning preferred)
- Proven experience scaling products from early-stage to enterprise-level reliability (1→10, 10→100)
- Hands-on experience breaking monolithic systems into microservices with production-grade data pipelines
- Experience in government contracting, subcontracting, or similar regulated environments (strongly preferred)
- Familiarity with compliance-heavy systems and workflows
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field preferred

Washington, D.C., New York, NY, San Francisco, CA - Must be located in or willing to relocate to one of the above locations
- U.S. citizenship required (no visa sponsorship available)
- Salary: $190,000 – $260,000

- Candidates with only FAANG/big tech experience and no startup exposure
- Frontend-heavy engineers with limited backend or systems depth
- Candidates unable to clearly demonstrate government or compliance-related experience
