Lead Product Manager, Enterprise API
United States
This role is open to remote or hybrid candidates (East Coast preference), with hybrid being central to our New York, NY or Charlotte area offices. Must be able to work Eastern Standard Time hours.
As a Lead Product Manager for Enterprise API/Components, you will define the future of how enterprise developers build with our platform, owning the end-to-end roadmap for 1–2 product squads. You are a steward of long-term direction, responsible for ensuring roadmap coherence and execution health across critical B2B partner integration endpoints, including ownership of Partner SDK and Developer Portal, Component Library and design system integrations that power partner facing surfaces.
Operating with a strategic horizon of 12–24 months, you will guide PM craft development, partner with Engineering and Design leads on capability building, and establish the operating rhythms that enable teams to deliver consistently.
What You'll Do:
- People Leadership:
Manage and mentor Senior Product Managers (and below), guiding their craft development and team maturity. Demonstrate people leadership behaviors such as coaching and conflict resolution. - Partner SDK Strategy & Coherence:
Own the strategy and roadmap coherence across API and Components squad, ensuring that individual initiatives align with the broader enterprise platform strategy. - Define the component architecture strategy — versioning, deprecation policy, and contribution model — ensuring the Component Library scales across multiple partner surfaces without fragmenting the design or engineering contract.
- Operational Excellence:
Establish operating rhythms and decision frameworks that enable teams to deliver consistently, prioritizing API versioning, stability, and high-quality developer documentation. Ensure alignment with enterprise-grade audit logs and reporting standards. Establish monitor and maintain adherence to API latency SLAs. - Cross-Functional Partnership:
Partner with Engineering and Design leads on cross-team staffing and capability building to ensure the team has the resources and skills to succeed. - Execution Health:
Ensure product quality, execution health, and partner alignment across your squads. - Ambiguity Reduction:
Consistently reduce ambiguity for your teams and stakeholders by framing tradeoffs explicitly and synthesizing complex inputs into clear direction. - Contextual Domain Expertise:
Maintain a deep understanding of the domain and users to serve as a trusted source of judgment for your team. Anticipate downstream effects and constraints. Use this expertise to guide your PMs' strategy and inform cross-team tradeoffs, rather than controlling their individual solutions.
What We're Looking For:
- Strategic Horizon:
Demonstrated ability to manage a strategic horizon of 12–24 months. - Talent Development:
Proven ability to elevate PMs through coaching and clarity, raising their ability to scale across roadmap scope. - Organizational Design:
Shows judgment on organizational design, role clarity, and team formation. - Systems Thinking around API and Components:
Deep familiarity with developer platforms, API design, component library ecosystems — including token systems, versioning strategies, and the tradeoffs between flexibility and consistency in a multi-tenant or white-label context. - API Lifecycle Management: Experience governing the full lifecycle of an enterprise API: from endpoint design and versioning strategy, through release and changelog management, to deprecation workflows and migration support for downstream integration partners.
- Component Lifecycle Management:
Experience governing the full lifecycle of a component library: from contribution intake and design review, through release and changelog management, to deprecation and migration support for downstream consumers. - Multiplier Mindset:
Behave as a multiplier for the team, not just a strategist, by contributing to better defaults and clearer standards. - Conflict Resolution:
Experience mediating differences and resolving conflicts to maintain team health and alignment.
