Job Description & How to Apply Below
** Job Description*
* Oracle Cloud Infrastructure is building the next generation of cloud services for enterprises running mission-critical workloads at global scale. The OCI Queue team owns a fully managed, serverless messaging service that enables asynchronous communication between distributed applications, helping customers decouple services, process high-volume transactional messages, and build resilient cloud-native architectures.

We are looking for an experienced individual contributor to help design, build, and operate core capabilities for OCI Queue. In this role, you will take ownership of significant service components across the control plane and data plane, including queue lifecycle management, message production and consumption flows, service APIs, durability, observability, scaling, and operational automation.

This role is ideal for an engineer who enjoys building reliable distributed systems and owning production services. You will work on technical problems involving availability, latency, throughput, correctness, fault tolerance, security, and operational excellence. You will collaborate with engineers, product managers, SREs, security partners, and other OCI service teams to deliver messaging capabilities that are simple, reliable, and trusted by customers.

As an IC4 engineer, you will be expected to drive projects from design through launch, make sound technical tradeoffs, raise the quality bar through code and design reviews, mentor other engineers, and continuously improve the service based on customer needs and production learnings. You should be comfortable working through ambiguity, decomposing complex problems, and delivering practical solutions for a business-critical cloud service.

** Responsibilities*
* As an IC4 Software Development Engineer on the OCI Queue team, you will:

+ Own the design, development, testing, deployment, and operation of key OCI Queue service components.

+ Build and improve distributed systems that support serverless message queuing at cloud scale.

+ Develop control-plane and data-plane capabilities, including queue lifecycle management, message publish, consume, delete, update, visibility timeout, batching, channels, and dead-letter queue workflows.

+ Design and implement reliable APIs, backend services, automation, and service integrations used by customers and internal OCI teams.

+ Improve service scalability, throughput, latency, durability, availability, and fault tolerance for high-volume transactional messaging workloads.

+ Drive projects from technical design through production launch, including rollout planning, testing strategy, operational readiness, and post-launch improvements.

+ Own production service health through monitoring, alerting, dashboards, incident response, runbooks, and continuous reliability improvements.

+ Debug complex production issues across distributed systems, identify root causes, and implement long-term fixes.

+ Collaborate with product managers, architects, security teams, and peer OCI service teams to translate customer and platform requirements into high-quality technical solutions.

+ Participate in and lead design reviews, code reviews, and architecture discussions for team-owned features.

+ Mentor engineers, share technical knowledge, and help raise the engineering bar for code quality, testing, simplicity, and operational excellence.

+ Identify and reduce technical debt, operational toil, scaling bottlenecks, and security or reliability risks.

+ Contribute to a team culture focused on ownership, customer impact, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
