As a unit within the Finance ITS (ITSTO), ITSSG is responsible for defining technology strategy and governance frameworks to align technology initiatives with WBG's business goals. The unit fosters cross‑functional collaboration among tech teams, business units and external partners to ensure WBG's needs are met. ITSSG promotes governance and process alignment to catalyze business agility and optimizes technology investments to enable innovation, efficient scaling, compliance, resilience, and sustainability.
Scopeof Work
The scope of work includes design, implement, and govern an enterprise‑grade integration fabric using Workato. This role is responsible for connecting disparate business systems, automating complex cross‑departmental workflows, and ensuring data integrity and security across the organization's technology stack.
Skills / Experience Required- Senior Workato Developer/Lead Orchestration Engineer should have the following skills sets/experience.
- Experience:
Level III 6 to 9 years in software engineering or IT, with 3 5+ years specifically dedicated to integration middleware/iPaaS (Workato, Mule Soft, Boomi, or similar). - Workato Expertise:
Deep, hands‑on experience with the Workato platform (Recipes, API Management, RLM, Work spaces, and On‑Premises Agents/OPAs). - API Deep Dive:
Mastery of REST, SOAP, GraphQL, Webhooks, and asynchronous integration patterns. - Data Formats & Transformations:
Fluent in JSON, XML, CSV, and complex data transformation logic. - Authentication Standards:
Strong understanding of secure authentication methods (OAuth 2.0, SAML, JWT, Mutual TLS). - Programming/Scripting:
Proficiency in Ruby (essential for Workato Connector SDK), Python, or JavaScript. - Database Knowledge:
Familiarity with SQL and data warehousing concepts (e.g., Snowflake, Big Query) for data pipeline orchestration. - Certifications:
Workato Automation Pro I, II, and III are highly recommended;
Workato API Management certification is a strong plus. - Project Management:
Agile/Scrum experience and the ability to manage multiple integration projects simultaneously.
- Enterprise Architecture:
Design scalable, fault‑tolerant integration architectures that connect core enterprise systems Orchestration technologies such as Workato. - Complex Recipe Development:
Build, test, and maintain sophisticated Workato recipes, utilizing advanced features like callable recipes, message templates, and complex data pill mappings. - Custom Connector Building:
Develop custom connectors using the Workato Connector SDK (Ruby) for legacy systems or niche applications lacking native connectors. - API Management:
Utilize Workato's API Platform to expose recipes as API endpoints, managing API life cycles, access control, and usage policies. - Environment & Lifecycle Management:
Establish CI/CD pipelines for integrations, managing deployments across Development, Test, and Production work spaces using Workato's Recipe Lifecycle Management (RLM) tools. - Governance & Security:
Define enterprise standards for error handling, retry logic, alerting, and data privacy (masking PII/PHI data in logs).
