Job Description
  • Design, develop, enhance, debug and implement services on Service Now modules including ITSM, ITFM, HRSD, ITOM, PPM, SPM.
  • Collaborate with product owners and stakeholders to gather requirements and build requested items and tasks using workflows to manage processes and meet business requirements.
  • Document and maintain functional business requirements, process flows and business use cases.
  • Perform operational administrative tasks, support report configuration and maintenance, and configure data integrations between Service Now and other systems.
  • Develop Service Now Forms, Tables, Modules, workflows, flow designs for approvals and lifecycle.
  • Build business rules, UI policies, UI actions, client scripts, ACLs, notifications, UI pages, UI macros, script includes, formatters and CMS/Service Portal features.
  • Adhere to Service Now best practices, agency security guidelines and governance policies while keeping the environment close to out‑of‑the‑box.
  • Conduct code reviews, mentor junior developers, and provide technical guidance.
  • Stay updated on Service Now releases, features and industry trends; identify opportunities for process improvement and automation.
Best Practices and Governance
  • Ensure adherence to Service Now best practices, agency security guidelines, governance policies and maintain an environment as close to out of the box as possible.
  • Perform code reviews and mentor junior developers.
Continuous Improvement
  • Stay updated on Service Now releases, features, and industry trends.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and automation.
Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, enhance, debug and implement software solutions on Service Now.
  • Troubleshoot production problems related to software applications.
  • Research, test, build and coordinate the conversion and/or integration of new products based on client requirements.
  • Design and develop new software products or major enhancements to existing software.
  • Address problems of systems integration, compatibility, and multiple platforms.
  • Consult with project teams and end users to identify application requirements.
  • Perform feasibility analysis on potential future projects and present findings to management.
  • Assist in evaluating and recommending application software packages, application integration, and testing tools.
  • Resolve problems with software and respond to suggestions for improvements and enhancements.
  • Act as team leader on projects.
  • Instruct, assign, direct, and check the work of other software developers on the development team.
  • Participate in the development of software user manuals.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of hands‑on experience with Service Now development across the modules: ITSM, ITFM, HRSD, ITOM, PPM, SPM.
  • Experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment.
  • Proficiency in JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and REST APIs.
  • Strong problem‑solving skills and ability to work independently.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • In‑depth knowledge of implementing Service Now architecture and scripting.
  • Experience creating Service Now update sets, promoting and testing through multiple instances into production.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of service‑management processes, procedures, and software, including Service Now.
  • Service Now Certified Application Developer (CAD) or Certified Implementation Specialist (CIS) certification – highly desired.
