Appian Technology Consultant

We are seeking a skilled Technology Consultant to design, develop, and implement business process automation and workflow solutions using the Appian Low-Code Platform. The ideal candidate will have hands‑on Appian development experience, strong integration expertise, and the ability to work directly with business and technical stakeholders to deliver scalable, high‑quality solutions.

• Design, develop, and implement applications using the Appian Low-Code Platform.
• Translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions.
• Develop and configure:
  • Appian Interfaces (SAIL)
  • Process Models
  • Records
  • Integration Objects
  • Reports and Dashboards
• Configure workflows, business rules, and case management solutions.
• Integrate Appian applications with external systems using APIs, web services, and databases.
• Participate in solution architecture discussions and technical design reviews.
• Support application deployment, testing, and production releases.
• Troubleshoot performance issues and optimize application functionality.
• Collaborate within Agile/Scrum delivery teams.
• Provide technical guidance and recommend best practices aligned with Appian standards.
• Support technical documentation, knowledge transfer activities, and client demonstrations.

• Hands‑on experience with the Appian BPM/Low-Code Platform.

• Experience integrating Appian applications with:
  • REST and SOAP APIs
  • SQL and relational databases
  • External enterprise systems
• Knowledge of Appian deployment processes and environment management.
• Understanding of workflow automation and business process optimization.
• Experience with version control tools, preferably Git.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment practices.

• Working knowledge of:
  • SQL
  • Java (preferred)
  • Web Services
  • JSON/XML
• Experience working within cloud environments, preferably AWS and/or Azure.

• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem‑solving abilities.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with both business and technical stakeholders.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience working in client‑facing consulting environments.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in fast‑paced project delivery settings.

• Appian Certified Associate Developer or Senior Developer Certification.
• Experience supporting Federal Government clients.
• Experience with Case Management or Workflow Modernization initiatives.
• Knowledge of Dev Sec Ops  practices and secure software development methodologies.
• Experience using Agile collaboration tools such as Jira and Confluence.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• Relevant experience developing and implementing Appian‑based solutions in enterprise environments.

• Federal Health Agency within the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Public Trust clearance.

• Hybrid work environment.
• Candidates local to the DMV (DC, Maryland, Virginia).
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
