Geo Acuity is seeking a Back-End Developer to build software leveraging Esri's products and APIs to deliver core backend services that solve complex problems at scale on a major enterprise GIS project. From building intuitive web interfaces and AI-driven tooling to writing Python for geoprocessing tools and automation, you'll be exposed to the full development lifecycle and cutting‑edge GIS solutions extending ArcGIS Enterprise.

• Build backend services powering geospatial processing, automation, and user-facing capabilities
• Develop APIs, proxies, and integration services using Node.js and Python
• Create and maintain backend tooling that extends ArcGIS Enterprise in containerized environments
• Develop geoprocessing services, automation scripts, and operational workflows
• Build connectors and ingestion pipelines across diverse enterprise data sources
• Support deployments across cloud-native and on-prem environments
• Improve reliability and performance through API design, testing, and observability
• Collaborate with platform, Dev Ops, and GIS teams to translate requirements into production solutions

• 2+ years of backend software engineering experience (or equivalent practical experience)
• Hands‑on experience with Python, JavaScript/Node.js, and Java for enterprise integrations and services
• Experience designing and building REST APIs and service‑based architectures
• Experience extending or integrating with ArcGIS Enterprise or similar enterprise geospatial platforms
• Familiarity with geoprocessing workflows, proxies/middleware, and GIS or data automation
• Experience with containerized environments (Docker, Kubernetes, or similar)
• Solid fundamentals in API/system design and testing/debugging distributed services
• U.S. citizenship with Active or Current (within 2 years) Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, GIS, or related field (or equivalent experience)

• Master’s degree in CS, Math, GIS, or related STEM field
• Esri or CompTIA Security+ certification
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP) and monitoring/observability tooling
• Exposure to Dev Sec Ops  practices and secure development pipelines
• Experience with ArcGIS Enterprise SDKs, automation frameworks, or platform extensions
• Experience with relational/spatial databases (PostgreSQL/PostGIS, SQL Server) and event‑driven or distributed data workflows
