This hybrid role, based in the DMV area, is hands-on and reports directly to the program's solution architect. You will work alongside a small Agile team of Appian developers, testers, and a business analyst. As the technical lead, you will guide the team while remaining actively involved in Appian development, setting standards, reviewing code, managing integrations, and mentoring team members.
This is an opportunity to take ownership of how the application comes together, ensuring high-quality, scalable, and maintainable solutions for a government client.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Lead the technical build of native Appian applications, including process models, interfaces, and integrations
- Set development standards, code quality expectations, and integration patterns for the team

- Support complex troubleshooting and ensure solutions are scalable and maintainable
- Collaborate with the solution architect on design decisions and deployment readiness
- Participate in Agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, backlog grooming, and demos as the technical lead
- Mentor and guide other developers within the team, fostering growth and best practices
- Remain hands-on with Appian development, contributing code and technical expertise daily
- Bachelor's degree
- U.S. citizenship
- Active Secret clearance
- 7-10+ years of software development experience, including prior technical lead experience
- Experience reviewing code and designs, managing integrations, and mentoring developers
- Strong Appian experience, including SAIL interfaces and process models (preferred)

- Ability to lead technical builds, set development standards, and ensure code quality
- Experience supporting complex troubleshooting and maintaining scalable solutions
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies and participation in sprint planning and backlog grooming
