- Build and maintain queries, stored procedures, and views for a federal agency’s enterprise data platform
- Work on Amazon Aurora and adjacent platform stores under a senior developer’s design
- Develop reliable SQL, stored procedures, and views on Amazon Aurora (PostgreSQL-compatible)
- Work with DynamoDB, S3, and Apache Iceberg tables to transform raw data into usable data
- Perform query tuning, S3 data loads into platform stores, and connectivity under governed access
- Grow toward owning physical design
- Help develop new capabilities, tools, and lines of business
- Collaborate with developers, engineers, data scientists, architects, and strategists
- 4+ years of database development experience
- Bachelor’s degree
- SQL on Amazon Aurora (PostgreSQL-compatible), working with DynamoDB, S3, and Apache Iceberg tables
- Stored procedures, views, and query tuning
- Data loading (S3 into the platform stores) and ODBC/JDBC connectivity
- Basic proficiency in writing, PowerPoint, and Excel
- Sole United States citizenship
- Ability to obtain a Public Trust determination
- Ability to commute into DC regularly
- Preferred:
Physical-design ownership of the Aurora and Iceberg stores, or the drive to grow into it - Preferred:
Apache Ranger-governed access - Preferred:
Federal information technology or high-volume transaction experience - Preferred:
Familiarity with AI-assisted developer tooling
Demonstrates expertise in SQL development on Amazon Aurora, including stored procedures, views, and query tuning. Capable of transforming raw data using DynamoDB, S3, and Apache Iceberg while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.
