Senior AI Scientist

This position focuses on designing, developing, experimenting with, and applying advanced Artificial Intelligence (AI) and AI-agent technologies to address a range of militarily relevant mission engineering challenges. The successful candidate will work at the intersection of AI, autonomous agents, mission engineering, and complex systems to develop innovative computational capabilities that enhance operational effectiveness and decision-making.

The position will be part of a small, highly collaborative team of AI experts responsible for developing advanced computational, or “compute,” modules that complement and extend existing Human-in-the-Loop (HITL) activities within complex systems-of-systems. These capabilities will enable new approaches to integrating human expertise with AI-driven analysis, reasoning, planning, and decision support.

Key aspects of the position include:

• Designing and developing AI systems and intelligent agents for complex military mission engineering applications.
• Experimenting with emerging AI technologies to evaluate their effectiveness in operationally relevant environments.
• Developing computational modules that complement and augment existing Human-in-the-Loop (HITL) processes and functions.
• Integrating AI capabilities into complex systems-of-systems to enable new approaches to mission analysis, planning, and execution.
• Exploring innovative methods for human-AI teaming, including the effective integration of human expertise and AI-driven capabilities.
• Collaborating with a small team of AI specialists to rapidly prototype, evaluate, and transition novel AI capabilities.
• Applying AI and agent-based technologies to complex, ambiguous, and evolving military challenges.
