Software Engineer II

For our client, we are seeking a Software Engineer II to join the team of a leader in the Healthcare space.

This role will focus on building reliable software that supports member enrollment workflows and improves the underlying systems that power eligibility verification and activation. You will work closely with experienced engineers to deliver scalable web application code, strengthen platform stability, and help shape the use of modern AI‑assisted development practices. The position also offers the opportunity to contribute in a highly collaborative environment where code quality, operational reliability, and thoughtful technology adoption all matter.

Location:

Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available

Compensation: $147,200 – $184,000 annually

• Design and implement tools that support member enrollment, including eligibility verification and activation
• Contribute high-quality web application code and help maintain stability through code reviews and testing
• Engage in hands-on coding while collaborating with experienced engineers
• Utilize agentic coding workflows with tools like Claude Code and Git Hub Copilot
• Foster team collaboration through idea sharing and technology adoption
• Participate in an on-call rotation to help manage reliability issues in the enrollment pipeline

• 3-5 years of experience writing readable, tested, and efficient code
• Experience with Ruby, preferred, or Python
• Experience with relational databases, including PostgreSQL and MySQL
• Experience designing scalable, maintainable, and secure APIs
• Understanding of CI/CD pipelines
• Exposure to LLMs and GenAI best practices
• Hands‑on experience directing AI coding agents, such as Claude Code, Cursor, and Git Hub Copilot
• Understanding of cloud infrastructure, with AWS preferred, and deployment tools such as Kubernetes and Docker
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
