We are seeking Backend Software Engineers to contribute technical expertise to a next-generation AI training initiative. You will design realistic, challenging coding tasks involving feature implementation, bug fixes, and deterministic verification, helping AI systems improve their ability to solve real-world software engineering problems.

This role is ideal for experienced backend engineers who enjoy working with complex codebases, building scalable services, debugging technical issues, and evaluating whether software solutions are correct, robust, and reliable. Prior AI experience is not required.

• CONTRACT: Contractor

• LOCATION: Remote — APJ, NAMER, LATAM, and EMEA

• Strong hands-on backend development experience with one or more of the following:
  Java, Node.js, Go, Rust, Type Script, Python, C++, or a comparable language.

• Design realistic and challenging coding tasks involving feature implementation and bug fixes.
• Create tasks that reflect authentic backend engineering workflows and practical software development challenges.
• Develop deterministic verifiers that accept reasonable valid solutions and reject incorrect implementations.
• Build and validate solutions using backend programming languages such as Java, Node.js, Go, Rust, Type Script, Python, or C++.
• Develop tasks involving scalable services, APIs, debugging, performance optimization, and automated testing.
• Review code quality, maintainability, correctness, and adherence to technical requirements.
• Design evaluation criteria that distinguish robust solutions from superficially plausible implementations.
• Incorporate security considerations into tasks and verifiers where applicable.
• Document assumptions, expected behavior, edge cases, and validation requirements.
• Apply independent technical judgment throughout the task development and review process.

• Strong hands-on backend development experience with one or more of the following:
  Java, Node.js, Go, Rust, Type Script, Python, C++, or a comparable language.

• Demonstrated experience building scalable backend services and APIs.
• Practical experience with debugging, performance optimization, and automated testing.
• Experience reviewing code and assessing software quality, correctness, and maintainability.
• Strong understanding of algorithms, data structures, and foundational computer science concepts.
• Ability to independently analyze technical problems and develop reliable solutions.
• Strong technical communication and documentation skills.
• BACHELOR’S DEGREE:
  Candidates applying for the Senior Software Engineer role must hold a bachelor’s degree from an institution located in an English-native country, such as the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, or Ireland.
