Open Train is the centralized, open platform where AI training and data-labeling freelancers find work, consolidate opportunities across platforms, and build a unified AI training portfolio they control. We make specialized AI training work easier to track, apply for, and grow into a durable freelance career.

Open Train is recruiting contractors for a four-week remote engagement supporting AI agent infrastructure and training data development. You will work on one of two related tracks: building and validating connectors that faithfully replicate SaaS tools, or developing realistic long-horizon tasks and the rubrics used to evaluate them. The engagement pays $300 per approved task and requires at least one completed and approved task per day, with no stated cap while work is available.

Build Python backend applications that replicate tools such as Slack, Linear, Jira, Notion, Gmail, and wikis. Extend existing connectors and test whether they behave faithfully like the systems they emulate. Mine data and workflows to identify opportunities for realistic long-horizon task development. Author tasks and verify their quality, realism, and correctness through structured QA. Write evaluation rubrics that distinguish correct, partially correct, and deficient work.

Use AI coding assistants during development, QA, and validation. Participate in calibration and quality reviews while delivering against agreed milestones.

At least three years of backend development experience with strong Python proficiency. Hands-on experience with FastAPI, Flask, or Django, plus scalable backends, REST APIs, and microservices. Working knowledge of Git, Docker, pipeline fundamentals, testing, and code-quality practices. Daily experience using AI coding assistants such as Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, Git Hub Copilot, or similar tools. Ability to assess technical correctness, realistic workflows, and quality standards.

Experience building SaaS integrations, backend connectors, workflow automation, or evaluation systems is useful for this role. Strong technical judgement is valuable when translating real workflows into reliable software tasks and clear evaluation criteria.
