For our client, we are seeking a Senior VFX Artist - Lightspeed Studios to join the team of a leader in the Telecommunications & Hardware space.
This role will focus on building the tools and workflows that help artists deliver high-quality visual effects content efficiently. You will partner closely with artists and engineers to solve production challenges, improve usability and performance, and support real-time content creation across modern production environments. The position also involves developing integrations, automation, and technical solutions that strengthen the broader content pipeline.
Location:
Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available
Compensation: $184,000 – $287,500 annually
Responsibilities- Design and develop Python and Qt/PySide tools and desktop applications
- Collaborate with artists and engineers to identify production challenges and create software solutions
- Enhance existing tools and workflows with a focus on usability and performance
- Develop integrations for DCC applications, production systems, and real-time environments
- Investigate new content creation methods and workflow automation strategies, including AI systems
- 8+ years of experience in tools engineering, pipeline engineering, technical art engineering, or software development within games, VFX, animation, or real-time production
- BS, MS, or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
- Proficiency in Python, including software architecture, debugging, testing, and API design
- Experience with Qt, PySide, PyQt, or similar frameworks for building desktop tools and UIs
- Integration experience with DCC applications such as Maya, Houdini, or Blender
- Knowledge of developing for real-time engines such as Unreal Engine
- Familiarity with asset pipelines, source control, validation, and publishing workflows
- Ability to collaborate with artists to translate production needs into technical solutions
