Personal Trainer’s Responsibilities (listed Daily, Weekly, Monthly, Quarterly, & Annually) Daily
- Wear proper uniform and name tag
- Be prompt and prepared for all appointments
- Complete and make sure all sessions are funded on the same day of service
- Remove or reschedule all pending events on or before the day of intended service
- Perform VIDAfits to company standard and hold yourself accountable for a 30% closing ratio- use the 10 step VIDAfit summary as a self-evaluation tool
- Promptly respond to emails and send follow up emails to performed VIDAfits (examples are given in the communication and VIDAfit process sections of this text). Emails should be returned as soon as possible or within 12 hours
- Smile and make eye contact so you look approachable and friendly
- Workout with MYZONE and encourage participation
- Between sessions engage in conversation with members and offer assistance when appropriate. New hires should meet 5 new members per day to increase awareness and to create conversations on purpose
- During sessions, be courteous to fellow trainers and members who are around you. Encourage sharing of equipment and machines. Often say hello and make eye contact and introductions to develop a sense of community.
- Do not wear headphones while in uniform to be more approachable
- Look to gain new clients: perform floor workouts (VIDAfits), complimentary stretching or foam rolling sessions. Followed by short email that summarizes the session or interesting article that is relevant to something discussed. First 45-60 days VIDA will add VIDAfits to any of the members serviced but the trainer has to set an appointment on the DT calendar and have the manager put in the VIDAfit session or have manager’s approval to do it themselves
- Work the front desk, PT Table or Ask the RD Table, to get to know members and schedule people for their VIDAfit sessions
- Take and/ or teach classes to increase exposure and to get to know members and offer VIDAfits to participants
- Keep pipe line full by asking current clients for referrals, and ask them to bring a friend to work out
- Review PT Job Score Card in the appendix for common expectations and job duties
- Keep up with sessions trained and sales toward monthly goals
- Send renewal emails to all clients with less than 6 sessions
- Attend on/off-site events with the sales team. New hires are required to do 4 events per month for the first 90 days or until their client book is full (over 20 billable hours per week)
- Review and role-play performed but not closed VIDAfits with PTM
- Attend weekly trainings for VIDAfit closing if ratio is less than 30%
- Prepare MAD event demos, health fairs and attend new member mixers/happy hours and events
- Participate in social media activities, and complimentary workshops
- 2xs per month list all clients with sessions remaining or update trainer/client list. Note if they are going to renew or not, and give to PTM on scheduled due date or upon request
- Attend PT meetings/trainings 2x per month
- Attend 1:1’s with PTM
- Keep up with current trends by attending conferences, earning CEC’s, gaining new certifications and or reading journals and text books to increase training depth
- Keep current CPR/AED and PT certifications up to date
