Days/Hrs: 6.25 hrs. with unpaid prep. If asked to work their prep, the substitute will be paid additional pay.
Pay
Schedule:
The current rate of pay for certified substitutes is $230 per day or $138 for a half-day. Certificated subs who complete 25 full workdays in day-to-day or short-term substitute assignments (two half days equal one full day) during the first semester will receive an increased rate of $250 per full day and $148 per half day in the second semester. Certificated subs who travel to Yale Elementary will receive an additional $20 travel bonus per day.
Job Summary:
To assist the superintendent in the accomplishment of the mission of the Woodland Public Schools to ensure that, within a nurturing and stimulating environment, each of our diverse students and graduates achieves literacy and appropriate core competencies and becomes a responsible and compassionate citizen. Certificated Substitutes are on-call, as needed to fill in for teachers who are absent for various reasons.
Work is performed under the direction of the building administrator.
Duties and Responsibilities:

* General Ethics in the Workplace
* If these trainings have already been completed for another school district, completion certificates dated after August 1, 2025 will be accepted.
Qualifications:
* Possess a current Washington State teaching certificate
* Demonstrate the ability in classroom management
* Demonstrate successful recent experience working with students
* Demonstrate ability to communicate effectively
* Successful experience working with youth
* Successful experience working with diverse populations
* Familiarity with a wide variety of teaching techniques that are used to maximize student learning
* Ability to work cooperatively with students and their parents who are culturally, racially, and linguistically diverse
* Comfortable working in a collaborative environment in a program focused on improving student learning
* Ability to work in a semi-open or self-contained classroom
* Ability to work with an educational team, including directing the work of para educators
