Summary
The Head Cheer Coach is responsible for the organization and supervision of the program including budgeting, ordering, inventory, collaboration with assistant coaches, player supervision, awards, team rosters, and equipment management. The basketball season runs from mid August to early March. Exact dates to be determined.
OUR DISTRICT
The Sultan School District is one of the larger geographical school districts in the Puget Sound area, consisting of approximately 325 square miles. Sultan School District has approximately 2,200 students enrolled K-12. Students are currently served by two elementary schools, a middle school, a high school and an alternative high school; and the Sno-Isle Skills Center, a cooperative vocational technical school.
OUR COMMUNITY
Located northeast of Seattle (seven miles east of Monroe) or about 20 minutes from the Woodinville area, Sultan is surrounded by a beautiful environmental setting. Our "backyard" is the scenic Skykomish River and Cascade Mountains. Sultan School District includes the community of Sultan, Startup, and Gold Bar. Students from Index attend Sultan High School.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
Work is typically performed in a gymnasium; requires substantial extra-hours work, travel between sites, stamina, endurance, and physical exertion associated with demonstrating techniques; may be required to balance, crouch, crawl, bend, kneel, and stand for prolonged periods; may be exposed to high noise levels and childhood diseases; and may experience a multitude of demands and changing priorities with frequent interruptions.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

* Organize and supervise the program including budgeting, ordering, inventory, player supervision, awards, team rosters, and equipment management
* Participate in athletic registrations
* Issue and care of sports equipment during and after season
* Compile eligibility lists and other reports
* Perform related duties as assigned
SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS
* Working knowledge of specific sport fitness, safety methods, and techniques
* Ability to commit to an athletic program that fosters the self-worth and self-esteem of all participants
* Ability to teach sports theory and technique
* Ability to model good sportsmanship at all times
* Ability to promote teamwork, fair play, and success
* Ability to willingly support and foster the mission of the Sultan School District
* Ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, teachers, and administration
* Ability to communicate, implement, and uphold district athletic standards
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
* Rules Clinic Attendance
* Continuing Education Standards - 30 hours prior to the 3rd season of coaching for new coaches and 15 hours every three years thereafter
* Successful coaching experience in appropriate sport
* Must have excellent moral character
* Must have excellent organizational and motivational skills
* Valid/current CPR/1st Aid card maintained for the duration of this job
* Type II Driver's License or willingness and ability to obtain
* Successful Washington State Patrol and Federal Bureau of Investigation Fingerprint Clearance
* I-9 Employment Eligibility in compliance with the Immigrations Reform and Control Act
* Sexual Harassment Training (obtain prior to season starting - district provided)
* Safe Schools trainings (obtain prior to season starting - district provided)
