Nooksack valley high school science teacher
The responsibilities of the high school science teacher are to establish, plan, develop and prepare learning objectives and provide clear and focused instruction for all students; to promote student achievement; provide guidance, counsel, supervision, and discipline to students; and to assess and evaluate student performance and progress to enhance effective learning. This is a leave replacement position 8/24/26-1/21/27
Minimum qualifications and responsibilities
* bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with course(s) of study in appropriate area(s).
* valid teacher's certification for the state of washington with science endorsement
* genuine interest in teaching and working with high school children.
* science teaching experience/background preferred.
* knowledge and experience in the application of next gen science standards.
* knowledge and effective use of technology in the classroom
* good organizational and training skills
* demonstrated proficiency in effective communication.
* knowledge of effective instructional and behavioral techniques
* demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships/collaboration with students, parents, staff, administrators, and the public.
* demonstrated ability to plan a program of study that meets the individual needs, interests, and abilities of students.
* demonstrated ability to create a positive classroom atmosphere to encourage and motivate students to learn essential skills, develop essential attitudes and experience successful learning.
* demonstrated ability to guide the learning process toward the achievement of district curriculum and establish clear objectives for all lessons and projects.
* teach and collaboratively plan with grade level team.

* teacher must follow the college in the high school teacher application process.
* prior teaching experience preferred.
* master's degree in biology or related field or preferred.
* bilingual ability desired (preferably spanish)
* other duties as assigned.
Salary and benefits
* .8 fte; 5 days/week
* the salary range is based upon the nooksack valley salary schedule.
* benefits in accordance with the sebb/health care authority (medical, dental, vision, ltd, life insurance)
* for qualifying positions, employees are offered enrollment with the washington state retirement plan.
