Help 7th Grade Students Find Confidence in Their Voice
Seventh grade is a year where students are growing into themselves a little more. They are gaining independence, testing out ideas, and still looking to trusted adults for structure and encouragement. In English Language Arts, students learn to read more closely, write with more purpose, and find confidence in their own voice. A good ELA classroom gives them room to think, revise, ask questions, and keep trying when the work gets harder.
At Lakeside Middle School, this 0.4 FTE ELA position is part of a school community that believes student success is built through strong instruction, positive relationships, and the daily work of adults learning from one another. The teacher in this role will teach 7th-grade English Language Arts and work alongside colleagues who share responsibility for helping students move forward. Even in a part-time role, this teacher becomes part of the rhythm of the school and part of the support students count on.
This position is a good fit for someone who enjoys middle school students and understands that trust matters in learning. The teacher will be trusted to plan meaningful lessons, respond to student progress, communicate with families, and contribute to a school culture where reflection is part of the work. Each day brings a chance to help students build skills they will need in high school and to remind them, through steady instruction and care, that they are capable of succeeding.

Each employee shall accumulate twelve (12) days of sick leave per year. An employee employed for less than a full term shall be entitled to a prorated part of the sick leave allowance. Each employee shall earn three (3) annual leave days per year. Employees with less than 1.0 FTE will receive a prorated share of annual leave based on their FTE.
Employees anticipated to work more than 630 hours per year will be eligible for benefits through the School Employees Benefits Board (SEBB). Standard benefits include Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, and Long-Term Disability.
