Position: Teacher of the Visually Impaired in Soap Lake, WA
Location: Soap Lake

Make a meaningful difference in the lives of students as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired in an itinerant, full-time role for the  school year. This opportunity is designed for passionate educators dedicated to supporting visually impaired learners in a supportive educational environment. While this role is primarily in-person, some flexibility with hybrid schedules is possible.

Key

Qualifications:
  • Valid Washington State certification for Teachers of the Visually Impaired (TVI)
  • Demonstrated experience or coursework in visually impaired education
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills with students, families, and educational teams
  • Flexibility to travel to various schools as part of an itinerant assignment
  • Commitment to individualized instruction and accessibility for all learners
Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver tailored instruction and support to students with visual impairments, ensuring access to the general curriculum
  • Collaborate closely with classroom teachers, counselors, and related service providers to create effective learning solutions
  • Adapt and modify instructional resources, materials, and environments to accommodate student needs
  • Participate in IEP meetings, assessments, and ongoing progress monitoring
  • Provide consultative support and training to faculty and staff regarding best practices in visual impairment education
  • Communicate regularly with families to promote student success and facilitate smooth transitions between schools as needed
