Job DescriptionWe are recruiting for three Special Education Paraeducators to serve Artz‑Fox Elementary in the Mabton School District for the 2026‑27 school year. These positions are 32.5 hours per week, school year schedule. Start date will be August 2026.
General Responsibilities- Reporting directly to the Special Education Teacher, the Special Education Para educator is responsible for supporting and assisting students with disabilities in various school settings.
- Assist the Special Education Teacher, consistent with IEP or IFSP goals, in lesson plan preparation; one‑on‑one & small group instruction; classroom management; student observation & assessment; communication with parents and staff, in a variety of school settings.
- Supervise students.
- Collect data and report student progress.
- Maintain accurate data collection records.
- Communicate with staff and parents as instructed by the Special Education Teacher.
- Provide positive behavior management support, consistent with the IEP or IFSP.
- Attend to the physical needs of students, including moving and positioning students & assisting with personal hygiene needs.
- Participate in staff meetings, in‑service programs, workshops and seminars.
- Participate as a member of the education team. May attend parent conferences.
- Maintain regular attendance to carry out the duties and responsibilities of the position.
- Other duties as assigned.
Salary: The full salary range for this position is $21.27 - $26.31 per hour. Offers are made at the beginning of the range.
Regular attendance will be required to ensure consistency for our students and help support a positive, productive learning environment.
Minimum andPreferred Qualifications & Skills
- At least 18 years of age.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Must meet one of the following educational requirements:
- Associate’s Degree OR
- 48 sem./72 quarter credits from an accredited college or university; OR
- Passing score of 455 on the Para Pro Assessment; OR
- Passing score of 220 on the Pearson Paraprofessional Assessment; OR
- 65% on The Master Teacher, Inc. Para educator Online Training Program.
- Experience in a special education classroom setting.
- Knowledge of programs and services for students with disabilities.
- High School / Trade School degree preferred.
- Citizenship, residency or work visa required.
- Other educational qualifications:
Associate's Degree; 48 sem./72 quarter credits;
Passing score of 461 on the Para Pro Assessment.
- Classroom setting, may move from classroom to classroom to provide services.
- Provide assistance and attend to the physical needs of students including tube feeding, catheterization, changing diapers, toileting.
- Sit, stand, and stoop to attend to student’s needs & provide instruction.
- Regular attendance during assigned work schedule.
- Travel within ESD 112 region for meetings and trainings.
