Job Description

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
:

Valid Washington State Teaching Certificate with Elementary Education and Special Education endorsements.
Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree.
Meet all State and Federal requirements.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
:

Early Childhood Education Endorsement.
Experience with or willingness to support inclusive practices.
Willingness to work collaboratively in a team-oriented setting.
Ability to promote high expectations, demonstrate a caring attitude, and establish a learning environment that enhances academic achievement for students.
Enthusiastic, flexible, and committed to student achievements.
Demonstrated ability to successfully employ effective teaching methods and sound assessment techniques.
Exemplary organization, communication, and leadership skills.
Previous teaching experience preferred.

RESPONSIBILITIES
:

Work with and instruct students with disabilities, including those enrolled in district and community early childhood programs.

Participate in MDT/IEP meetings and provide input.

Complete IEPs as per state and federal regulations.

Conduct achievement and/or behavioral assessments within specified timelines.

Help develop student schedules with general education staff.

Provide consultation to general education staff on student accommodations and behavior management issues.

Supervise educational assistants.

Regularly communicate special education students’ progress/needs to parents and staff.

Communicate with school administration on student issues as needed.

Participate in school faculty meetings and staff development workshops offered by the district.

Enforce and uphold all district and building policies, rules, and regulations.

Perform other duties assigned.

WORK SCHEDULE
:
Monday – Friday, 7.5 hours per day (Beginning the 2026‑27 school year)
