- Salary will be updated per ETO CBA Salary Schedule

Required Qualifications:
- Master’s degree
- Valid Washington State Counselor credential
- ESA certification in school counseling
- WSP/FBI background and fingerprint clearance (fee paid by the employee)
- Experience using data to identify students for tiered interventions
- Experience facilitating small groups (social skills, executive functioning, academic planning, conflict resolution)
- Must hold or have the ability to obtain a valid First Aid/CPR card
- Demonstrated ability to:
- Utilize effective reading, writing, computation and communication skills
- Develop and utilize community connections to strengthen programming
- Organize, problem solve, critically and creatively think, makes decisions, and apply cooperative learning skills
- Collaborate with school staff, outside agencies, parents, and students
Preferred Qualifications:
- Successful experience counseling or teaching at the middle school level
- Successful experience collaborating with students, parents, school staff (including administrators), and community support agencies
- Experience with cooperative teaming for special needs, at-risk and multilingual students
- Experience implementing restorative justice practices
Examples of Duties:
This list of essential functions is not exhaustive and may be supplemented as necessary and without notice. Depending upon individual assignments, the teacher performs all or a combination of several of the following duties:
- Advise students, parents and guardians for the purpose of providing information on student’s transition to and from middle school
- Provide counseling to students, parents and guardians for the purpose of enhancing student success in school, including at-risk students
- Monitors student records for the purpose of developing plans and/or providing information regarding student’s academic, social, emotional and behavior goals
- Collects and analyzes relevant data to build interventions for struggling students
- Functions as an integral participant in teaching teams and provides consultation to faculty and staff around academic and social-emotional intervention
- Works with at-risk youth and understands and promotes positive school climate and culture of ethnically and socially diverse students and parent population
- Case manager for students with individual learning plans (504 and Hi-Cap)
- Facilitation of small groups
- Facilitation of classroom lessons
- Participation in relevant professional development in order to stay abreast of and implement current best practices and/or state mandates
- The safety and health of students and others is an essential function of this position
