Middle School, Science Teacher
Lake Chelan School District has a 1.0 FTE opening beginning with the school year for a middle level science teacher.
Position Description- Middle school level science position with potential to teach a variety of content within middle school NGSS standards
- Collaborate regularly with grade level and content teams
- Implement a Tier II and/or elective course offering
- Support programs and building/district in-service education programs; attend building/district meetings and conferences as required
- In-depth understanding of Next Generation Science Standards, instructional strategies, assessment practices, and pedagogy at the middle school level
- Skill in utilizing a variety of instructional strategies (including technology) to engage student learning through innovative, relevant, and real-world experiences
- Experience with student-centered classrooms and cooperative learning
- Ability to work in partnership with parents, staff, students, administration, and the community to provide student-focused learning
- Experience working with colleagues to accomplish common goals; willingness to collaborate with others and work within a team environment
- Commitment and ability to work with a full range of students to include diverse needs in levels of learning, economic status and student backgrounds
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) and ESL endorsed candidates are encouraged to apply
- Valid Washington State teaching certificate with appropriate endorsement for middle level science (such as Middle Level Science or General Science)
- Current 1st Aid/CPR card, or ability to obtain a new card before the start of the school year
