SALARY: Certificated Salary Schedule based on education and experience.

Position Summary
Wahluke School District is seeking a dedicated and student‑centered Speech‑Language Pathologist to provide comprehensive speech and language services to students ages 3‑21. The successful candidate will collaborate with educators, families, related service providers, and multidisciplinary teams to support students in achieving meaningful educational outcomes. The Speech‑Language Pathologist provides direct therapy services and supports educational outcomes by assessing, planning, and delivering individualized services for students with speech and language needs.
The SLP will also serve as a case manager for students whose primary disability is speech and language. Because a large percentage of our students and families are Spanish‑speaking, bilingual (English/Spanish) candidates are strongly preferred, although qualified monolingual applicants are encouraged to apply. This position serves students Pre‑K‑12. Open until filled.
Essential Functions (representative listing):
- Conduct comprehensive speech‑language evaluations for students referred for special education services, including administering assessments, conducting observations, and preparing detailed evaluation reports with recommendations.
- Interpret assessment results and prepare written evaluation reports.
- Participate in eligibility meetings, IEP meetings, reevaluations, and multidisciplinary team meetings.
- Develop measurable speech and language goals aligned with student needs.
- Provide direct and indirect speech‑language therapy services in accordance with IEPs.
- Monitor and record student progress and maintain accurate service documentation and audit files/records.
- Collaborate with teachers, psychologists, occupational therapists, physical therapists, administrators, and families.
- Assist classroom staff in implementing communication supports and strategies.
- Provide consultation regarding augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) systems when appropriate.
- Support students with articulation, language disorders, fluency, voice, social communication, and swallowing concerns as appropriate.
- Maintain compliance with IDEA, Washington Administrative Code (WAC), Medicaid billing requirements, district policies, procedures and practices.
- Complete required documentation within established timelines.
- Maintain confidentiality of student information and records.
- Support compliance with local, state, and federal rules and regulations that govern Special Education.
- Actively participate and engage in professional development and department meetings.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, far vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
- Lifting:
The employee must be able to lift or move up to 10 lbs regularly and occasionally up to 25 lbs; up to 50 lbs with assistance; must also be able to lift overhead. - Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Special Education.
Minimum Qualifications
- Master's Degree in Speech‑Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
- Washington State Educational Staff Associate (ESA) Certificate as a Speech‑Language Pathologist or eligibility to obtain prior to employment.
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC‑SLP) preferred;
