Para educator Position
Wishram School District is seeking a caring, energetic Para educator to support students in our Early Childhood Education and Assistance Program (ECEAP). This position works closely with teachers to support student learning, social-emotional development, and a positive classroom environment. While the anticipated assignment is in the ECEAP preschool program, para educators may also assist in other classrooms, supervise students during recess and lunch, and support other educational activities as needed.
Wishram School District is a small rural district that values strong relationships between students, staff, and families. Teachers work closely with colleagues across grade levels and subject areas, and the small school environment allows educators to know their students well and provide meaningful support for student learning and growth. Enrollment in Kindergarten/1st Grade is expected to be 8-10 students, creating a learning environment where teachers truly know their students and can provide individualized attention.
Class sizes are intentionally small and typically include only a handful of students, allowing teachers to build meaningful relationships with each learner and adapt instruction to meet individual learning needs. Wishram School has worked intentionally to maintain a school culture grounded in mutual respect, responsibility, and positive relationships between students and staff, contributing to a supportive and welcoming learning environment where both students and educators feel comfortable, respected, and able to focus on teaching and learning.
Staff members have opportunities to collaborate, contribute ideas, and play an active role in shaping the educational program of the school.
Our school is located in the town of Wishram, Washington, in the heart of the Columbia River Gorge along the banks of the Columbia River. It is a short distance from The Dalles, Oregon and Goldendale, Washington. The community is rural and offers an ideal setting for those who enjoy outdoor recreation, close-knit communities, and the natural beauty of the Columbia River Gorge.
The community is very supportive of the school and its staff.
