Basic Functions:
Short Notice position is an on-call role, and applicants must be prepared to report to work within one hour of receiving notification. The incumbent of this position serves as a fully qualified teacher in a secondary grade setting, teaching skills to, and developing students' knowledge in multiple subjects using courses of study adopted by the Board of Education. Employs a range of instructional techniques and strategies to deliver a cognitively challenging instructional program.

Education and Training Requirements:

• Washington State teaching certificate OR eligibility to apply for a conditional teaching certificate.
• Obtaining a First Aid/CPR card within 30 days of hire.
• Passing Washington State, Federal Bureau of Investigation, and Colville Tribal History Background Checks.
• Valid Washington State Drivers License and to be eligible for Tribal Insurance.
• Proof of Degree, Transcripts, and three letters of Reference provided along with application.

• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to establish and maintain working relationships with a diverse group of people, including students, parents, elders, teachers, administration, and staff in a fast-paced school environment.

• Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to implement Pascal Sherman's prescribed curriculum and to enforce the rules and regulations of the school.
• Ability to provide for individual differences in students.
• Ability to maintain appropriate records, good order, discipline, and a healthy and safe classroom atmosphere.
• Ability to evaluate student growth.
• Ability to use a variety of instructional materials.
• Ability to make parent contact when necessary.

Special Requirements:
Excellent writing and public speaking skills, outstanding organizational and planning abilities, strong ability to work effectively with individuals and groups, knowledgeable in the area of instructional methods and theory, desire to serve as a team player, ability to facilitate groups, and problem solving and conflict resolution skills.

Note:

Pursuant to Tribal Policy, if this position is safety sensitive it is subject to pre-employment drug testing. In addition, this position is subject to reasonable suspicion and post-accident drug testing.

If required of this position, you must possess and maintain a valid Washington State driver's license and be eligible for the Tribes' Vehicle Insurance. In addition, this position may be subject to pre-employment background clearances. If applicable, these clearances must be maintained throughout employment.
