Special Education Para educator
Reporting directly to the Special Education Teacher, the Special Education Para educator is responsible for supporting and assisting students with disabilities in various school settings. The Special Education Para educator, consistent with the individual education plan (IEP) or individual family service plan (IFSP) assists the Special Education Teacher with lesson plan preparation; one-on-one and small group instruction; classroom management; student observation and assessment;
and communication with parents and staff.
Salary:
The full salary range for this position is $21.04 - $24.44 per hour. Offers are made at the beginning of the range. Effective 09/01/2025, the salary range will be $21.27 - $26.31 per hour. Offers are made at the beginning of the range. Assignment/
Location:
We are recruiting for a Special Education Para educator to serve Kalama MS/HS. This position is 32.5 hours per week, school year schedule.
Regular attendance required:
This role relies on regular and reliable attendance to ensure consistency for our students and help support a positive, productive learning environment. The hours of this position are 6.5 hours per day, school year schedule, and regular attendance during those hours are expected.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Associate's Degree (note: if offered a position, official transcripts are required prior to start date); OR
- 48 sem./72 quarter credits at the 100 level or higher at an accredited college or university (note: if offered a position, official transcripts are required prior to start date); OR
- Passing score of 455 on the Para Pro Assessment; OR
- Passing score of 220 on the Pearson Paraprofessional Assessment; OR
- 65% on The Master Teacher, Inc. Para educator Online Training Program.
