Qualifications & Experience- Certified Sign Language Interpreter or equivalent credential required
- Prior experience interpreting in educational settings, particularly with high school students, highly valued
- Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and strong understanding of Deaf culture
- Ability to adapt communication modes to meet individual student needs
- Strong professional boundaries, ethical standards, and commitment to student privacy
- Solid organizational skills and reliability for consistent full-time work
- Deliver clear, accurate interpretation for high school student(s) throughout the school day—including classroom instruction, group work, and school events
- Collaborate closely with teachers and student support staff to anticipate and meet student needs
- Prepare for lessons and school activities to ensure effective communication support
- Foster an environment of respect, encouragement, and advocacy for the student’s learning and social inclusion
- Maintain confidentiality and uphold guidelines for interpreter conduct in educational settings
