Adjunct Faculty – Principles of Accounting
Location: Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Washington
Position: Adjunct faculty to teach on-site at JBLM for the Accounting program.
Courses- Principles of Accounting I (ACCT 220):
An introduction to the basic theory and techniques of contemporary financial accounting. Topics include accounting cycle, transactions, and the preparation of financial statements for single-owner business organizations. - Principles of Accounting II (ACCT 221):
Further study of contemporary accounting practices, emphasizing financial and managerial accounting. Topics include liabilities, equities, investments, cost-volume-profit analysis, and budgets. - Accounting Information Systems (ACCT 326):
Evaluate how AIS tools are used to record, process, and analyze financial data, recommend controls, and assess technology integration.
- Actively engage students through frequent interaction that motivates them to succeed.
- Guide students in active collaboration and the application of learning in problem- and project-based demonstrations.
- Provide rich and regular constructive feedback using rubrics for assessment of student work.
- Demonstrate relevant and current subject‑matter expertise and help students connect concepts across their program.
- Provide feedback to program chair on possible curricular improvements.
- Master’s degree in Accounting or a related field from an accredited institution of higher learning.
- Professional experience in Accounting or related field.
- Experience teaching adult learners online and in higher education is strongly preferred.
- Certifications such as the CPA, CIA, CISA, or CFE are desirable.
- Ready to teach on-site at JBLM.

Salary commensurate with experience, per credit hour ranges detailed in hiring documentation.
