Continuing Position For The 2026-27 School Year
This position is open to qualified CERSD employees from June 30 - July 7, 2026. Applications received from out of district applicants will not be considered until July 8th. Applications will be reviewed as they are received and interviews may be scheduled the week of August 10. The position is open until filled.
Definition of Position:
Certified teachers carry out the position performance requirements essential to provide the necessary services to assigned boys and girls in the Cle Elum-Roslyn School District. The individual(s) in this position will play a critical role not only in the education of our youth, but also in the continual evaluation and improvement of curriculum and continual improvement of teaching and learning strategies.
The elementary teacher hired will provide direct support to all students by delivering instruction and ensuring learning through a variety of methods and strategies. Proficiency at scaffolding activities and differentiating instruction to meet the needs of all students and knowledge of universal design to support the social and academic growth of all students in the classroom is essential.

Required Qualifications- BA degree and possess a Washington State Teaching Certificate with appropriate endorsements for the position being considered.
- Documented current successful and effective elementary teaching, substitute teaching and/or student teaching experience.
- Technical and working knowledge of Washington State learning standards.
- Ability to integrate technology in meaningful ways consistently in the classroom
- Current successful experience teaching elementary children in reading, writing, math and sciences.
- Verifiable successful experience working with and/or teaming with other adults/teachers.
- Multiple endorsements that allow the individual to teach multiple and different courses.
- Understanding of or experience with character education programs, PBIS, SEL or other similar culture building programs.
- Prior experience or familiar with MTSS & RTI.
Activities:
- Knowledge of the Washington State learning standards for grades and subjects to be taught
- Identify the learning needs of individual students
- Establish learning objectives and outcomes consistent with individual pupil's learning needs and the Washington State grade level learning standards
- Select and/or create instructional lessons to appropriately support district-adopted and supplementary learning resources
- Plan and develop a variety of instructional experiences appropriate to the specified learning objectives and outcomes
- Conduct an effective instructional plan for individual or small group
- Integrate technology into the curriculum
- Differentiate instruction for a wide variety of student learning
- Assess pupils' achievement and use that assessment data to inform instruction
- Maintain accurate records of student information and assessment data with the ability to access the information readily as needed or as requested
- Maintain effective communication with staff and families
- Organize the physical setting of the classroom so it contributes to learning and keep classroom materials well organized
- Provide a climate conducive to student learning
- Develop and maintain clear standards for student conduct with appropriate disciplinary plans
- Understand and practice contemporary pedagogical practices such as developmentally appropriate practices, contextual teaching, integrated curriculum, inclusion practices, classroom based assessment, alternative assessment practices, individualized programs, global/multi-cultural education, differentiated instruction, and integration of Washington State learning standards with current curricular materials
- Remain pedagogically current through continuing professional development
- Communicate effectively using district supported print and electronic media and related applications
- Subscribe to the professional code of ethics for educators
- Maintain an understanding of Affirmative Action, Title IX, and handicapped regulations
