Position: Long Term Substitute (certificated; preferably endorsed)
Location: Taholah

Summary

The Taholah School District is seeking a dedicated and passionate Long Term Substitute (certificated; preferably endorsed) to join our educational team. This full-time position is designed to provide continuity of instruction and support for students during the absence of the regular classroom teacher. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a commitment to fostering a positive learning environment, engaging students in meaningful educational experiences, and collaborating with staff to ensure student success.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver high-quality instruction in accordance with the district's curriculum and educational standards.
  • Create and implement lesson plans that meet the diverse needs of students.
  • Assess and evaluate student progress and provide feedback to students and parents.
  • Maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and collaboration.
  • Manage classroom behavior and address any issues in a constructive manner.
  • Communicate regularly with school administration, staff, and families regarding student progress and classroom activities.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities and collaborate with colleagues to enhance instructional practices.
  • Uphold the policies and procedures of the Taholah School District.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by school administration.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field.
  • Valid teaching certification or license for the state of Washington.
  • Previous teaching or substitute teaching experience preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively engage with students, parents, and staff.
  • Ability to adapt to diverse learning styles and differentiate instruction.
  • Proficiency in using technology and educational software to enhance learning.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Commitment to fostering a safe and supportive learning environment for all students.
  • Background check clearance as required by state law.
