Highly Capable Teacher Position
This is a continuing position for the school year.
Note:
This position is open to qualified Cle Elum-Roslyn School District employees July 16 - 22, 2026. Applications received from out of district applicants will not be considered until July 23, 2026. Definition of Position:
The Highly Capable Teacher develops and assists in providing services to students enrolled in the district's Highly Capable programs.
The Highly Capable Teacher provides job-embedded ongoing professional development with a primary goal of enhancing the classroom instruction through improving educator expertise.
The Highly Capable Teacher will support staff in the implementation of the district's highly capable programs by working directly with educators, providing classroom-based demonstrations, collaborations, and one-on-one support.
The Highly Capable Teacher will maintain all appropriate Highly Capable records in compliance with district, state, and federal laws.
The Highly Capable Teacher will oversee all state and federal testing as required for the district's Highly Capable programs.
The Highly Capable Teacher will develop two-way, ongoing, and consistent family relations including multiple opportunities for family voice and engagement.
Required Qualifications:
- BA degree and possess a Washington State Teaching Certificate.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities:
- Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships and work collaboratively with school and district personnel and community agencies.
- Design, implement, and coordinate professional development to promote effective teaching strategies that support increased student achievement, and use of a range of balanced assessments to inform instruction.
- Participate in the regular meetings of school-based teams and district network of Instructional Coaches for additional training and support.
- Develop and provide additional communication and engagement opportunities for parents/families to better understand shifts in school/classroom instructional practices and recommendations for supporting student learning outside of school.
- Provide direction in the collection and interpretation of data so modifications can be made to the instructional program.
- Communicate with parents and staff regarding student progress.
- Observe instructional settings in order to make recommendations of support needed for student success.
- Assist in meetings and development of activities to ensure successful transitions take place between instructional settings.
- Provide assistance and support to staff members.
- Provide training to paraprofessionals on appropriate interventions to maximize student independence across instructional settings.
- Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team on student needs.
- Attend required trainings and remain up to date on current best practice regarding district, state, and federal initiatives and requirements.
- Demonstrate the ability to be a life-long learner.
Terms of Employment/Benefits:

180 CEREA Contract with a 4 day supplemental contract - Benefits:
Medical, dental, vision, disability, and life insurance through SEBB* - Sick/Personal Days: up to 12 sick days per school year and up to 3 personal days per year.
- Retirement:
Two plan choices available with DRS, Plan 2 and Plan 3. - Salary:
Based off the CEREA Salary Schedule and depending on verified years of experience, clock hours, and education and the start of the contract for the current year. Salary currently showing 25-26 schedule. Salary will be updated once it has been approved.
