Elma Middle School is seeking a passionate and dedicated educator to join our team as a Sixth Grade Social Studies Teacher. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in Social Studies and a commitment to fostering a positive learning environment that encourages student engagement and academic growth. This full-time position requires creativity, collaboration, and a deep understanding of middle school curricula to effectively teach and inspire students.

• Valid Washington State Teaching Certificate with Social Studies Endorsement
• WSP/FBI fingerprint background clearance (fee paid by the employee)
• Student teaching or contracted teaching experience in a secondary setting
• Knowledge and ability to use a variety of techniques to teach students with differing learning styles
• Ability to establish positive relationships with students, parent/guardians, and community

Teaching & Learning
- Deeply understand the Washington Social Studies Standards and establish clear learning targets for every lesson. Build rigorous and aligned assessments and consistently engage students with Social Studies practices.

  Consistently develop strong relationships with students' families while diligently informing parents of expectations, positive news, and/or concerns about their children. Provide opportunities for parents to be involved in their children’s learning.
