Are you looking for a position that makes a difference in the community? Do you enjoy working with teens? We currently have an opportunity for a Varsity in Volunteerism Youth Advisor to work with students at La Conner High School. This position directly supports our goal of providing continuous prevention and wellness programming to meet needs in Skagit County and beyond.

Job Overview:
Serve as the school-based advisor of student volunteers participating in the Youth United Varsity in Volunteerism (VIV) program. This is approximately a 2 hour a week commitment during the school year.
Responsibilities and Duties:- Coordinate and monitor records of student volunteer hours and sites, trainings attended, and presentations given
- Organize and run regular monthly club meetings
- Share information about the program with school-based staff to recruit student participation
- Participate in planning meetings, reporting and evaluation processes
- Assist coordination of the end of year ceremony for students, parents and community partners
- Other duties as assigned.
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Two years or more of coaching/advising experience preferred
- Certificated teacher, school district employed or otherwise preferred
- Demonstrated interest in co-curricular student activities
- Demonstrated knowledge and skills of student advisement and program implementation
- Ability to effectively communicate with community partners, students, parents and staff
- Ability to comply with all policies, rules, and procedures for activity
- Desired personal characteristics include flexibility, commitment to accomplishment, and enthusiasm for assignment
- Successfully pass a Washington State Patrol Background Screening (or similar agency)
- Valid Washington State Driver's License
Work Conditions:
General office environment, school settings and community functions.
Required Physical Abilities:
Must be physically able to sit for extended periods of time, up to 8 hours per day. Must be able to reach, push and pull with arms and hands. May be required to lift up to 25 pounds on occasion.
