Job Description

• . Assists deaf and hard of hearing students, individually or in groups, with lesson assignments
• . Interprets or transliterates all language necessary during classroom instruction for the purpose
• of facilitating effective communication.
• . Modifies curriculum and classroom materials under the supervision of assigned teacher for the
• purpose of meeting the needs of deaf or hard of hearing student/s.
• . Prepares for daily classroom lectures, assemblies, and activities for the purpose of providing a
• clear understanding and interpretation.
• . Provides support to the deaf or hard of hearing student for the purpose of facilitating
• communication and/or reinforcing classroom objectives.

• . The ability to operate specialized equipment for the deaf and hard of hearing.
• . Fluent in sign language.
• . Ability to perform basic math, translate materials for ASL, compose a variety of documents,
• and participate in discussions.
• This position is contingent upon the continued enrollment of the student in the district. If the student is no longer enrolled, the position and employment will be terminated.

Position Type: Part-Time

Salary: $23.95 to $33.66 Per Hour
