The Physical Education Specialist is an on-site role located in Skykomish, WA. This K-12 position is responsible for planning, delivering, and assessing age-appropriate physical education instruction that promotes fitness, motor skills development, teamwork, and lifelong wellness and nutrition habits. Day-to-day responsibilities include designing and implementing lesson plans aligned with district and state standards, leadingstructuredphysicalactivitiesandsports,teachingsafeexercisetechniques,andadaptingactivitiesto meet diverse student needs and abilities. The Specialist will monitor student progress, maintain accurate records, collaborate with other educators and support staff, and communicate regularly with families about student growth.

Additional duties may include supervising extracurricular activities, support school-wide health and wellness initiatives, and contributing to a positive and inclusive school culture.

• Candidatesshouldpossessskillsinclassroommanagement,student assessment,and instructional differentiation.
• Candidatesshouldpossesseffective Communication skills,including the ability to explain concepts clearly, motivate students, and collaborate with colleagues, families, and community partner.

• Ability to meet and maintain punctuality and attendance expectations.
• Relevant qualifications may include a bachelor’s degree in physical education, kinesiology, education,orarelatedfield,andappropriatestateteachingcertificationoreligibilityforcertification.
• AdditionalbeneficialqualificationsincludeexperienceworkinginK–12schoolsettings,knowledge of trauma-informed and culturally responsive practices, CPR/First Aid certification, and the ability to safely supervise indoor and outdoor physical activities.
