JOB SUMMARYThe Superintendent serves as the chief executive officer of the Tribal Compact School and is responsible for the day-to-day leadership, administration, and operation of the school. The Superintendent works under the policy direction and governance authority of the Tribal School Board. The Tribal School Board is responsible for governance, strategic oversight, and evaluation of the Superintendent, while the Superintendent maintains executive authority over educational programs, personnel, operations, budget implementation, and school management.
The Superintendent works collaboratively with Tulalip Tribes leadership to ensure alignment with Tribal priorities, sovereignty, and community goals.
During the first year of employment, the Superintendent will serve in a planning and development capacity, leading all aspects of school design, startup, and implementation in preparation for the school's anticipated opening in 2027. Responsibilities during this phase include strategic planning, educational program design, policy development, staffing plans, facility readiness, operational systems development, community engagement, regulatory compliance, and school launch activities.
Upon school opening, the role will transition to that of an operational Superintendent with responsibility for the ongoing administration, instructional leadership, and continuous improvement of the Tribal Compact School.

MINIMUM REQUIRED EDUCATION- Masters degree in Education, Educational Leadership, Administration, or related field.
- Doctorate degree preferred.
- Eight (8) years of management experience in education related field, including program planning, operations, grant management and evaluation
- Five (5) years of experience working with K-12 educations and/or early childhood education program
- Five (5) years of experience in developing, implementing, and managing complex government and grant funded budgets.
- Four (4) years of experience working with Native American children, young adults and adult students in promoting their success in academic programs.
- WA State Driver License (Personal Auto Insurance)
- Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a pre-employment background check.
