Position Overview

Wind Turbine Technician II – Goodnoe Hills site, Goldendale, WA. As a Wind Site Technician you will ensure the smooth operation of wind turbines, addressing maintenance, troubleshooting and system issues.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain and repair wind turbines with your team to keep communities powered.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and perform safety inspections.
  • Collaborate with your team to improve turbine performance and share best practices.
  • Document your work and continuously improve operational processes.
  • Accurately time code all work activities to support clear tracking of task duration, progress and operational efficiency.
Who You Are
  • Minimum 6 months with a Wind Technician Certificate, or 1 year of wind turbine experience, or 2 years in mechanical or electrical fields.
  • Highly developed problem‑solving abilities and an engaged approach to responsibilities.
  • Safety‑conscious and committed to best practices.
  • Ability to work well with others and enjoy collaborative environments.
  • Physically fit, comfortable working in various conditions and at heights.
  • Ability to speak, read and follow instructions in English.
  • High school diploma (or equivalent), valid driver’s license, and legal authorization to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.

Salary & Career Growth

The base pay range for this position is $27.43 – $33.43 per hour, with potential for additional variable compensation. Pay will be determined based on experience and qualifications.

Sign On Bonus
  • We are offering a $2,500 USD sign‑on bonus to qualified applicants. Eligibility requirements apply; contact a Vestas representative for details.
  • Applicants equipped with Basic Safety Training (BST), Basic Technical Training (BTT) and Advanced Rescue Training (ART) are considered for this benefit.
Physical Demands
  • Stand and walk for prolonged periods.
  • Use telephones, close‑range radios or similar devices.
  • Visual acuity for depth perception, field of vision and colour discrimination.
  • Stoops, kneels, crouches or crawls as needed; requires hand‑eye coordination and manual dexterity.
  • Climbs stairs and vertical ladders to heights of 60–100 meters and sometimes supervises work in confined spaces.
  • Lifts, pushes, pulls, carries items up to 50 lbs. (not more).
  • Participates in required safety training such as LOTO, Electrical Qualification, Fall Arrest & High Angle Rescue & Emergency Descent, and Confined Space.
  • Ensures combined weight of prospective employee, required PPE and gear does not exceed 300 lbs. PPE may weigh up to 40 lbs.
