Job Highlights
Responsible for compliance with environmental standards and regulations, such as Clean Water, Waste, and Air Quality, and monitoring progress of key initiatives designed to address critical environmental opportunities, promote sustainability, and aid in maintaining a safe work environment.
Responsibilities- Conduct environmental inspections and sampling, including waste management, water, and air compliance requirements (NESHAP FF, generator hours, opacity, leak detection (LDAR), and hazardous waste compliance).
- Manage waste characterization, profiling, container management, and waste manifests.
- Maintain regulatory compliance for the site and update site environmental databases, procedures, and reports (ESG, hazardous waste, ISO 14001, Air, Water, TRI).
- Assist Health and Safety with maintaining and implementing the site's safety programs, including safety walks, participation in projects and MOCs, and HSE equipment and supply management.
- Support site chemical compliance, including SDS approvals, storage, and labeling.
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental/Chemical Engineering, Environmental Science, or another science‑related degree.
- 3+ years of environmental compliance experience in a regulated industrial setting (chemical manufacturing, refining, or heavy industry).
- Demonstrated experience working with RCRA (Large Quantity Generator), Clean Air Act, and Clean Water Act regulations.
- Strong computer skills.
- Position requires safe work in outdoor industrial environments and office settings, including exposure to varying weather, noise, dust, chemicals, and moving equipment. Duties include walking long distances, climbing ladders or stairs, working at heights or in confined spaces, operating vehicles and hand tools, repetitive bending and lifting up to 50 lbs, and prolonged computer use. PPE must be worn and field observations must be accurately documented.
