Responsibilities
- Monitor plant performance and heat balance for continual output and efficiency improvements.
- Review, understand, apply, and develop internal engineering guidelines, procedures, and standards at the site level in coordination with corporate engineering teams as required.
- Contribute to project planning and execution through all phases including front‑end input and post‑implementation support.
- Work collaboratively with corporate engineering team members and build strong relationships with other work groups to integrate sound asset engineering practices into day‑to‑day and long‑term efforts of Capital Power.
- Act as site NERC Compliance Officer to report and interface with the Capital Power Compliance Team and external stakeholders.
- Own the Management of Change program at the site level.
- Provide O&M feedback to the engineering group to advance the creation of effective solutions to facility issues.
- Evaluate the economic benefits of proposed technical solutions and provide recommendations of alternate solutions.
- Recommend and implement safe and effective engineering solutions relating to plant emissions, control systems, equipment failure, equipment optimization, etc.
- Obtain Out‑Plant Operator qualification for this plant.
- Improve technical and management skillset through formal and informal training opportunities.
- Education:
Completed engineering degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Process or other closely related engineering fields. - Minimum 4 years of engineering practice, including at least 2 years of dedicated experience in an operating plant setting. Experience equivalencies may be considered on a case‑by‑case basis.
- Advanced understanding of pressure piping and vessel design, maintenance and compliance to codes and standards and/or rotating equipment and related engineering/technical knowledge (vibration, lube, thermography).
- Thorough understanding of maintenance processes, methods, and techniques as they apply in an industrial setting, focusing on power plant systems.
- Strong communication skills (written, spoken).

Benefits & Compensation- Pay range: $83,400 - $125,000 USD (determined based on qualifications, experience, and internal equity).
