The City of Everett is accepting applications on an open/continuous basis for the Water Treatment Plant Operator III at the City’s Water Treatment Plant in Sultan, WA. Salary listed. Applications Reviewed on a Weekly Basis and Interviews Scheduled as Needed.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements- Possess a valid Washington State Department of Health Level III Water Treatment Plant Operator Certificate OR
- Possess a valid Water Treatment Plant Operator Certificate recognized as an equivalent to the Washington State Level III Water Treatment Plant Operator Certificate by the Association of Boards of Certification AND obtain a Washington State Level III Water Treatment Plant Operator Certificate within six (6) months of hire.
- Obtain within six (6) months of hire and maintain a forklift operator certification in accordance with Washington Division of Occupational Safety & Health (DOSH) rules.
- Possession of a valid driver license at the date of hire, and the ability to obtain and maintain a valid Washington State Driver License within 30 days of the date of hire.
- Meet Washington education and experience requirements.
- Have received a Washington state approved passing score on an Association of Boards of Certification (ABC) standardized exam within the current exam cycle or previous exam cycle.
- Hold a valid certification in good standing.
- Pay the application fee.
- Alabama, Alaska, Arizona, Georgia, Guam, Hawaii, Idaho, Iowa, Inter-Tribal Council of Arizona, Massachusetts, Montana, Ohio, South Dakota, and Wyoming
- Oregon — if certification was received by taking a 2013, or later, standardized ABC exam
- Nevada — if certification was received by taking the 2017 standardized ABC exam
- Colorado — for levels A-D, not for class S
- Utah — if certificate is not a restricted certificate
- New York — if exam score is 70 percent or higher
- California, Florida, Indiana, Kansas, Louisiana, Minnesota, Missouri, New Mexico, North Carolina, or Texas

Our Operators play a critical role in delivering roughly 100 million gallons of drinking water daily to over 640,000 customers, about seventy-five percent of Snohomish County. The Water Filtration Plant (WFP) is nestled in the valley just north of Sultan, WA on the Chaplain Reservoir, offering majestic views of the Cascade Mountains. The WFP plans to spend over $18 million dollars in capital improvements over the next five years and as an operator you will play a critical role in these capital investments.
