Location: Joint Base Lewis McChord
Responsibilities
- Provide full range of real property and facilities design engineering, construction, maintenance, energy conservation, and related engineering services for an installation.
- Oversee facility engineering services, statutory regulatory requirement execution (including work classification management), and multi‑year design and construction contracts.
- Supervise the activities of supervisory, administrative, specialist, engineering, and other technical personnel engaged in engineering activities.
- Participate in management reviews of operations and resource allocations, and assure implementation of established work improvement and simplification programs.
- Make recommendations regarding use of allocated resources within authority established by higher level directives and supervisory delegations.
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Secret clearance is required throughout this appointment.
- Occasional TDY may be required.
- Education:
Have a bachelor’s degree (or higher) in engineering from an ABET‑accredited program, or a program that includes the required core engineering courses, or a combination of education and experience that satisfies the engineering knowledge requirements as outlined. - Professional registration:
Registered as an Engineer Intern (EI), Engineer in Training (EIT), or licensed Professional Engineer (PE) by any state, DC, Guam, or Puerto Rico; otherwise must meet the alternative experience combinations described. - Specialized experience:
One year of experience that includes planning for engineering, real property, or construction; performing design, project management for maintenance, contract creation; and supervising multiple workers such as engineers and other employees.
- Foreign education credentials must be evaluated by a private organization or given full credit at a U.S. accredited college or university. No substitution of education for experience is permitted.
- Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre‑Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration.
- You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship.
- This position may require a one‑year supervisory probationary period during which the agency evaluates your fitness and continued employment.
- Direct Deposit of Pay is required.
- Selection is subject to Department of Defense referral system for displaced employees.
